This site is designed to give you a brief introduction to the Classical World by focussing on some of its sights.

What is Classical Civilisation?

Simply put, it is the study of two ancient civilisations which have had a profound effect on our own. The Ancient Greeks and Romans may have died out almost 2000 years ago but their language, literature, art, philosophy and science continue to influence us today.

Why study Classics?

Classics has inspired much of what we value in western civilisation and as we are frequently asked to take the opportunity of yet a new millenium to look at our future world, it seems only right to begin by going back to its roots - by looking at the first democracy and empire etc.

Through the study of Classical Civilisation you will meet a rich heritage of literature, art and architecture; learn to appreciate the political, historical and moral ideals which were paramount to the ancient races. It will also show you what it meant to be a true citizen.
